My objective in teaching is to develop each child into a person who possesses confidence in the areas of academics and social well-being, as well as being able to use life skills to be a successful member of society. I believe that each child can learn and every student has the right to learn in a safe and nurturing classroom.

This will be my fourteenth year of teaching. I've taught 3rd grade for several years now, but at the beginning of my career I also taught a year of 1st grade and a year of 2nd grade. I have also taught nine years of Summer Reading Academy in the first, third, and fourth grades.
My family is the most important thing in the world to me! My daughter, Grace and son, Alex made me so proud every day! I'm also so blessed to be married to my best friend, Cody! We have lots to celebrate in our family!
One of my greatest passions is cycling. This year through the spring, summer and fall I will put over 2,000 miles on my bike! It is a wonderful time for me to enjoy the outdoors and have some quiet time to think. This summer I did a lot of group rides which allowed me to meet some wonderful people and make some new friends! I also made some improvements on my bike speed and strength this summer which was one of my goals!
My passion of cycling has lead me into my next favorite thing, competing in triathlons! In the past I have mostly competed in Sprint Triathlons, which are typically a 1/4-1/2 mile swim, 12-14 mile bike, and a 3.1 mile run and have done a few Olympic distance races, which are a .93 mile swim, 24.8 mile bike ride and 6.2 mile run. Last summer was my first Half Ironman, or 70.3 race. This was a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike ride and 13.1 mile run! This summer I cut back a bit and did just one Sprint and an Aqua Bike (1.2 mile swim and 56 mile bike) where I placed 1st in my age group! .
Speaking of skiing, I don't just sit inside my house all winter long, I also love to downhill ski! This hobby truly makes living in the cold Minnesota winters much more bearable for me! Last year I got to ski in the Rockies! Skiing is something we love to do as a family. Grace and Alex are both excellent skiiers!
Now you know all about me! I can't wait to get to know you!
